110 One Day More By Lewis Robinson-Hurst
Int/Ext. Nowhere
Amy floats through the netherspace. She’s alone. Utterly alone. Until-
MALE VOICE (Off-screen)
Come along Pond! Up and at em!
INT. TARDIS
Amy awakes. She’s sat on a comfortable chair. She looks around. The TARDIS Console room. But how? How did she get here? Rory stands to one side of the console, looking at her. Amy opens her mouth to say something but then she hears footsteps. They get louder. They’re coming from the stairs behind Amy. She turns… just as THE DOCTOR reaches the bottom of the stairs.
DOCTOR
Blimey Pond! You’ve slept for ages! Lovely dream was it?

INT. TARDIS
Amy stands. She looks at the Doctor, her mouth agape. She reaches out and pokes his Bow Tie. It goes askew. He frowns and adjusts it. Amy reaches up to touch his hair. He grabs her hand.
DOCTOR
Do you mind Pond? I spend a lot of time on my hair on a morning. What’s the matter? You look like you haven’t seen me for ages!
AMY
Sorry it’s just… bad dream.
RORY
About?
AMY
It was weird. Me and Rory got zapped back in time by Weeping Angels! We were Detectives in 30s New York investigating aliens. God it all sounds so silly when you say it out loud. River was there at times. And… there was this man… he was my friend… you know I can’t remember his name… I think it was Sa-
DOCTOR
It all sounds very interesting Amy, but I want to go on adventures. Who wants to go on adventures? Raise your hand if you want adventures!
The Doctor raises both hands. Rory raises his hand. Finally Amy raises hers. The Doctor runs around the console and types in several commands. As he does he speaks-
DOCTOR
Right then! Forwards in time! Backwards in time! Sideways in time! Did you know that it’s possible to go sideways in time? It’s very, very difficult and would require an enormous amount of power to be expended… but it’s possible! We should try it some time! We should go sideways in time and see where we end up! But not today! I know exactly where we are going to go!
Amy stands to one side. She looks sad. Rory walks up to her.
RORY
You ok?
She wipes her eyes. She looks at her finger. It’s wet.
AMY
Yeah. I was just… crying. I don’t know why I was crying. Like I’d left something behind...
RORY
Amy, are you sure you’re ok?
AMY
Yeah. I’m fine. Perfectly fine. Never better.
She lies.
The Doctor dashes around the console, pulling various levers with varying degrees of certainty. It almost looks as if he’s pulling random levers and hoping for the best. Suddenly, the TARDIS lands.
DOCTOR
Aha! Here we are! Now then! Let’s see where we are shall we?
The Doctor runs to the doors, pulls them open and...
EXT. JUNGLE DAY
A wide jungle confronts the trio. They step out. Amy and Rory look about with amazement. The Doctor kneels down and examines a strange plant.
DOCTOR
Hmm. Prehistoric Earth. Can’t guess the exact date. That’s the thing about dinosaurs.
He stands and turns to face Amy and Rory.
DOCTOR
They never invented the calendar! They can have as many teeth and scales as they like. Give me a proper way of telling the time any day. You know what, Dinosaurs. Little rubbish. Especially once you’ve seen a whole space ship full of them. And you know, I’m finding Dinosaurs a little boring if I’m perfectly hon-
He doesn’t get to finish. A T-Rex bursts out of the trees and roars.
DOCTOR
Oh. That’s...interesting. Hello!
AMY
Doctor! What are you doing?!
DOCTOR
I speak dinosaur.
RORY
I’m sorry. What?!
DOCTOR
I speak dinosaur.
AMY
You can’t speak dinosaur!
DOCTOR
I can speak dinosaur. I speak over a 1000 languages. Including baby, dinosaur and French. (To the dinosaur) Hello! How are things? Stomping about as per usual I expect. I’m the Doctor. This is Amy. Rory. And we’re travellers. So if you could be so kind as to-
The T-Rex steps on him. The Doctor is knocked to his back. Badly wounded. He looks at Amy weakly.
DOCTOR
Perhaps I was wrong about speaking dinosaur Pond...
The T-Rex lunges... and kills him. Amy screams. Suddenly-

DOCTOR
Blimey Pond! You’ve slept for ages! Lovely dream was it?
Amy rubs her head. She looks at the Doctor shocked.
AMY
How?
DOCTOR
Well I assume you closed your eyes and slowly dipped into unconsciousness.
AMY
No. Not that. How are you here?
DOCTOR
I walked down the stairs. Didn’t you see? It was a very good walk. I’m the master of walking down stairs. Best way to make a good entrance.
AMY
No. How are you alive? You died...I saw you die.
DOCTOR
Yes. On a beach in Utah. I was shot by a crazy space hair lady and then was perfectly fine! That was ages ago. Keep up Pond.
AMY
No not that! A Dinosaur stepped on you and ate you.
DOCTOR
Well then, as deaths go, that’s a very undignified death. I always thought I’d go out quietly, in a comfortable armchair and a good book. But no. Scottish here says I end up as Dinosaur chow. Well isn’t that...wizard. Never mind. Scratch that. Ignore it. I’m never saying that again. Thanks for nothing Donna Noble. Ahem. Amy are you sure you weren’t dreaming?
AMY
I...I don’t know. Maybe. Possibly. It felt so real.
DOCTOR
Dreams do. Remember the Dream Lord?
AMY
But this wasn’t a dream. I’m certain of it. It felt...real but different somehow.
RORY
Well in fairness, so do dreams.
AMY
But it wasn’t a dream!
DOCTOR
Well debate it all you want. I’m here and not dinosaur chow. A phrase I never thought I’d say. So! Adventures!
He dashes to the console.
DOCTOR
AMY
NOT PREHISTORIC EARTH!
DOCTOR
Err...ok...I know exactly where we’re going to go that isn’t prehistoric Earth. How about the opposite? How about...the future!
INT. SPACESHIP CORRDIOR
They step out onto a spaceship corridor. Blue lights pulse along the walls.
RORY
Ok. Where are we this time?
DOCTOR
It’s a spaceship! I can’t tell what spaceship it is by the colour of the walls Rory!
RORY
Well sorry! You usually know everything!
DOCTOR
Never know everything! That’s dangerous! There always has to be something you don’t know. Otherwise things get boring! Let’s find out who owns this spaceship shall we?
INT. CYBER-CONVERSION CHAMBER
The Doctor, Amy and Rory are all strapped into Cyber machinery as Cybermen stomp about.
AMY
If we ever get out of this, I will kill you.
DOCTOR
Don’t be like that! Besides, I have a terrific plan to get us out of here.
AMY
And do you feel like sharing this plan?
DOCTOR
Not just yet.
RORY
Which means you don’t have a plan.
DOCTOR
I do too have a plan!
AMY
Does your plan involve buzzing the Sonic Screwdriver and hoping for the best? Because all of your plans seem to involve that.
DOCTOR
It’s a good plan!
A Cyberman marches up to them.
CYBERMAN
Upgrade conversion begins now. Begin with the strongest.
DOCTOR
Ok. I’m ready! But I’m a fighter! I’ll fight until my last breath!
The Cybermen pull Rory forwards.
DOCTOR
Him? Really? You sure? Check your scanners. They might be faulty!
RORY
Are you really debating who dies first? Because I really don’t think that’s app-
A Cyber Conversion set slams down on Rory. He shakes and judders as it does it’s work. Amy screams.
Int/Ext. Nowhere

Amy, you’re here on the TARDIS. With me and Rory. You’re safe. What happened?
AMY
I...I saw you both die.
DOCTOR
Amy...
AMY
I saw you die Doctor. And Rory. This...day keeps repeating. And it always ends with one of you dying.
The Doctor has his serious face on. He pulls out his Sonic and buzzes Amy.
DOCTOR
That’s not right. You’re pulsing with time energy! Enough to rip the planet apart! I’m surprised the TARDIS isn’t trying to throw you out! Amy, how did this happen?
AMY
I...I pushed someone. There was a paradox...I pushed someone away from it. The energy poured into me. Someone died. And I left people close to me behind. I did it to save people.
DOCTOR
Amy, that didn’t happen. You’ve been on the TARDIS this whole time.
AMY
No it happened. I’m sure of it.
DOCTOR
This is beyond my understanding. I need to get more information. Hang tight. We’re going for a ride!
He flies the TARDIS. It lands. He runs to the door. And is instantly shot.
DALEK
Exterminate!
The Doctor stumbles back into the TARDIS and shuts the doors.
DOCTOR
The one time they shoot first and shout “Exterminate” later. Typical.
AMY
Doctor! Are you alright!
DOCTOR
Yeah. Only a glancing blow. Quick regeneration should do the trick! See ya on the other side Ponds!
The Doctor grimaces and closes his eyes. Nothing happens. He opens his eyes.
DOCTOR
Oh...I...oh...This is it? This is really...
He dies.

AMY
THAT’S IT! I’VE HAD ENOUGH!
She cries.
AMY
I want to go home. Rory? Sam? Are you out there? Can you hear me? Anyone?
FEMALE VOICE
Amy.
Amy looks up. RIVER SONG is stood there. She holds out a hand and helps Amy to her feet.
AMY
River...where are we?
RIVER
The netherspace. The void between timelines. From here you can access every alternate timeline in existence.
AMY
I didn’t know such a place existed.
RIVER
Neither did I. I’m still not sure that is what this place is. But it’s as good an explanation as any.
AMY
How did you get here?
RIVER
Let’s just say it involves a girl and the most wonderful man.
AMY
Why am I not surprised?
RIVER
How did you get here?
AMY
There was a paradox. I pushed Mr Violet away from it to stop him and then I was here. And I keep reliving the same day over and over. On the TARDIS. With the Doctor and Rory. And one of them dies. Why?
RIVER
I’m not the Doctor. I’m an Archaeologist. Time travel is not my specialty.
AMY
Guess then.
RIVER
Well, if I have to, I’d say you were flitting across multiple timelines, living alternate versions of events that could have been from days never lived in a life that never was.
AMY
Very poetic that.
RIVER
I do my best.
AMY
So that’s it. I’m stuck just flitting between these timelines for good?
RIVER
Well no. Considering all the timelines you visit have either the Doctor or Rory dying, I suggest there’s a choice of some sort.
AMY
You think I’m choosing to watch my husband and best friend die over and over?
RIVER
Perhaps not consciously. Subconsciously perhaps. Perhaps your subconscious is telling you to let one go?
AMY
Perhaps. River?
RIVER
Amy?
AMY
Is this real? Me speaking to you now? Is it real?
RIVER
Spoilers.
Amy smiles to herself. Looks down and looks back up. River is gone.
AMY
Goodbye Melody.
Amy looks down and ponders. Her thoughts taking her far, far away. Until-

INT. TARDIS
Amy awakes.
DOCTOR
Blimey Pond! You’ve slept for ages! Lovely dream was it?
Amy smiles.
AMY
Yes. The best.
The Doctor walks away, knowing not to inquire. He walks to the console.
DOCTOR
So! Who wants an adventure?
Rory raises his hand. Amy doesn’t. The Doctor looks at her, slightly confused.
AMY
Doctor, I think it’s time me and Rory went home, don’t you?
DOCTOR
Well...yes...if that’s what you want.
Amy nods.
DOCTOR
Ooh! We could take the long way home! Make it a good one! A last hurrah of sorts!
AMY
Doctor. When I say home, I mean home.
DOCTOR
Amy what’s brought this on? Is it something I did? If it is, I’m sorry. I-
AMY
It’s nothing you’ve done. It’s just that I-
She grabs Rory’s hand.
AMY
WE have lives now. Lives we’re happy with. Lives we want to keep. And all this, the travelling, it’s running away from that. I’m ready to grow up Doctor. I’m an adult. I don’t need my imaginary friend anymore.
The Doctor nods sadly, and sets the controls.
RORY
Amy, are you sure about this?
AMY
Yes. More sure than I’ve ever been.
DOCTOR
Right. Here we are. Home. 5 minutes after you left. Of course, it’s not too late. We can still leave.
The Doctor is crying. Tears are streaming down his face. Amy walks up to him, kisses him on the forehead and hugs him.
AMY
I never got to say goodbye properly last time.
DOCTOR
Last time?
AMY
Shush. There’s a million things I want to tell you Doctor. But I’m going to tell you one. You are my best friend. Never forget that. You are one of the people most dear to me in the whole world. And I’m never going to forget you. You’ve changed me so much for the better, but now I have to let you go. Because out there, somewhere, a young girl or boy or whatever other genders they have in the future, is sat waiting for an imaginary friend. And I have the best. I’m sending him on his way for them. Go to them. Find someone. Take them with you. Change them for the better like you changed me and remember that I will always love you. Goodbye Doctor.
Amy smiles and walks to the door. Rory awkwardly looks at the Doctor.
RORY
So...err...this is goodbye then. Goodbye Doctor. Be safe. And you should really look into cleaning this place up a bit.
The Doctor laughs. The two look at each other, and then hug. Rory pushes the Doctor away slowly, embarrassed at the hug, and smiles. He does a salute.
Amy awakes.
DOCTOR
Blimey Pond! You’ve slept for ages! Lovely dream was it?
Amy smiles.

Yes. The best.

RORY
Centurion Williams asking to be dismissed sir.
DOCTOR
Dismissed Centurion.
Rory grins and leaves the TARDIS, but not before tripping on the last step and stumbling. Amy watches him leave and smiles. She turns to the Doctor and has the saddest smile in all the world on her face.
AMY
Goodbye Doctor.
The Doctor wipes a tear away from his face. He smiles. The smile of a child who knows this is the end, but is still happy.
DOCTOR
Go along Pond.
Amy steps through the doors. And-
INT. MEDICAL ROOM - NIGHT
Amy is back in the medical room in the Empire State Building. Louise stands near Abbie, tears running down her face. Sam has his gun drawn, pointing it at Mr Violet who is held in a headlock by Rory.
RORY
How do we fix this?
MR VIOLET
I told you. There is no way of fixing it! Your wife is gone! Accept it you foolish mortal!
AMY
Well actually...
Everyone turns to look at Amy, stunned expressions on their faces.
RORY
Amy?
SAM
How?
MR VIOLET
Impossible.
AMY
Oh ye of little faith.
Sam points behind Amy.
SAM
The paradox!
MR VIOLET
It’s stabilising! At last.
He charges upwards, sending Rory flying. Mr Violet steps towards the paradox. His hands are outreached. Amy steps to one side and lets him come closer.
RORY
Amy...what are you doing?
AMY
He wants the paradox. He can have it.
MR VIOLET
Yes. You know full well not to stand in my way. Soon I will have the power to control reality itself. Shape every timeline into one I see fit. I will be unstoppable.
AMY
Well go on then. Stop talking about it and do it.
Mr Violet looks at Amy confused and then drops his hand.
MR VIOLET
It’s a trick.
AMY
Nope.
MR VIOLET
It is. You’ve done something. It’s a trap.
AMY
I’m just a human. What do I know about paradoxes?
Mr Violet frowns and then grins. He reaches forward and touches the paradox. The energy flows into him. He smiles. An intense smile of pure evil. The energy flows through his veins. He’s changing. Becoming something more. Something more than human. But wait. Something’s wrong. The energy begins to pulse quickly. Violet’s grim turns into a frown. Then he screams. Pain. Terrible pain. And then, with one bright flash, he’s gone and only the Paradox remains.
AMY
I don’t know anything about paradoxes, but I guessed quite a lot. I guessed, for example, that a paradox as unstable as this is unable to be controlled. By anyone. And it’ll burn you up, trapping you in the Netherspace for all time. Have fun alone with your thoughts Mr Violet. Let’s see if you can overcome your regrets. If not, then your stay in the netherspace will be a bit more permanant.
The paradox begins to pulse slowly.
SAM
It’s still unstable. It’s still going to destroy everything.
Amy sits down by Louise.
AMY
Hi.
LOUISE
Go away. Leave me alone with my daughter.
AMY
I understand your pain.
LOUISE
No you don’t. No one understands.
AMY
I do. You’re afraid of losing your daughter. I understand. As someone who lost their daughter, I understand.
LOUISE
I can keep my baby girl alive. She’ll be safe. She’ll be fine.
AMY
Louise, we both know that’s not true. This machine is only going to keep her alive. It’s designed to keep her heart beating. Not make her better. I imagine she’s been in a coma for a while. Rory, do a scan for brain activity.
LOUISE
No! Don’t!
AMY
Why? Because you know already don’t you?
Rory scans Abbie with a small device.
RORY
No brain activity of any kind...she’s brain dead.
Louise wails.
AMY
I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.
LOUISE
How could you? You come in here and you do this! Why?!
Centurion Williams asking to be dismissed sir.

How could you? You come in here and you do this! Why?!
AMY
I wouldn’t. I normally wouldn’t. But I have no other choice. The entire world depends on us making the right choice Louise. And sometimes, the right choice is the wrong one. We have to do it Louise. What sort of life is it for her? Let her go. Let her go calmly. It’ll be peaceful. We can do it together.
Louise stifles another sob and holds out her hand. Amy takes it and calmly guides it to a control panel.
AMY
That’s it. Ready? Now 1, 2, 3.
They both gently press a button. The heart moniters monitoring Abbie’s heartbeat slowdown...and flatline. Louise cradles her daughter’s body sadly. Amy looks at them both. Rory sits down next to her.
RORY
Well... we did it, we saved the world.
AMY
So why do I feel so horrible?
RORY
You said it yourself. The right choice isn’t always the best one.
AMY
I suppose.
He reaches out and places a supporting arm around her. She leans into him and closes her eyes.
INT. ANGEL DETECTIVE AGENCY – DAY
Amy, Rory and Louise walk in.
AMY
So...err...this is the office. What do you think?
LOUISE
...It’s a mess.
AMY
Well...so was 221B. What do you think? We know you’re struggling and we get a regular flow of cash. We can give you a job? You can help us?
Louise pauses and thinks. It’s hard for her. But then she decides.
LOUISE
Until Christmas. Then I’ll decide if I want to stay on.
AMY
Great. You up for the leg work? There’s a lot of running.
LOUISE
Oh heavens no. I’ll be here. Someone needs to tidy this place up and bring all the tea. Besides, what’s an agency without a secretary?
Amy smiles and holds out her hand.
AMY
Welcome aboard Louise Jameson.
Louise shakes Amy’s hand.
LOUISE
Glad to be here, Miss Pond.
ANGEL DETECTIVE AGENCY – NIGHT
Amy sits at her desk. She stares at the typewriter. She pulls out a manuscript from her desk. Attached is a note. It reads:
Mother
I’ve left the Afterword free. For you. If you want to say something to him.
- Melody Malone
Amy stares at the note and then at the typewriter. Rory steps into the room.
RORY
Amy?
AMY
Yeah?
RORY
What did you see? In the paradox? You saw something. I know you did. What was it?
AMY
Nothing of importance. It was what I needed to see. Go home Rory. I won’t be long. Just got to finish up some things.
RORY
You seem... different.
AMY
Good different or bad different?
RORY
I dunno. Just... different. I love you.
AMY
I love you too.
Rory leaves. Amy looks at the typewriter...and begins to type.
AMY (V.O.)
Afterword, by Amelia Williams. Hello, old friend. And here we are, you and me, on the last page. By the time you read these words, Rory and I will be long gone. So know that we lived well, and were very happy. And above all else, know that we will love you always. Sometimes I do worry about you, though. I think once we're gone, you won't be coming back here for a while, and you might be alone, which you should never be. Don't be alone, Doctor.
INT. AMY AND RORY’S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
As Amy narrates, she walks inside. Rory is sat reading. He stands up when he sees her. They kiss.
INT. LOUISE’S HOUSE: ABBIE’S BEDROOM – NIGHT
Louise looks around at the spacious child’s bedroom. She sits down and takes a picture of her and Abbie happy together. She strokes Abbie’s face in the picture, a sad smile on her face.
INT. SAM’S APARTMENT
Sam sits on a chair. He’s on the phone.
SAM
Hi baby.
LUCY (OVER PHONE)
Daddy? Is that you?
SAM
Yeah it’s me.
LUCY
Daddy I’ve missed you so much!

LUCY
Ok.

I love you. You know that right?
LUCY
Yes Daddy.

He hangs up. He leans back in the chair and groans. Another lie to add to the pile of lies. As he leans back, the narration continues
AMY (V.O.)
And do one more thing for me. There's a little girl waiting in a garden. She's going to wait a long while, so she's going to need a lot of hope. Go to her. Tell her a story. Tell her that if she's patient, the days are coming that she'll never forget. Tell her she'll go to sea and fight pirates. She'll fall in love with a man who'll wait two thousand years to keep her safe. Tell her she'll give hope to the greatest painter who ever lived and save a whale in outer space. Tell her this is the story of Amelia Pond. And this how it...
EXT. ALLEY – NIGHT
It’s dark. Only a dingy streetlight on the blink is a source of light. A homeless man, dishevelled and dirty, huddles up in a corner trying to sleep for the night.
VOICE (OFF-SCREEN)
Elbert Josephs...
ELBERT
Go away. I’m trying to sleep.
VOICE (OFF-SCREEN)
Elbert...
Elbert angrily stands up and looks his intruder in the face. And is shocked. A bright light fills the screen. Elbert shields his eyes.
VOICE (OFF-SCREEN)
Elbert Josephs, the lord on high has chosen you for ascension.
A bright flash... and everything goes back to normal. But Elbert is gone. It’s as if he was never there...
